About us Blackwell & District Young Striders Athletic Club was founded in September 2005. The idea was to develop athletics in the local area for young children. Since the club was founded, the club became affiliated to the UKA and now competes in local and national competitions. Athletes from the club have gone on to represent Derbyshire in Cross-Country, Track & field and Sports Hall The club has close links to all the areas primary and senior schools. Honours Coalfields Regeneration Mini Olympics 2007 Quad Kids Champions 18/7/2010 Sunday 18/7/10 saw BADYS crowned the 2010 national Coalfields Regeneration Trust Quad Kids champions. The competition at the Keepmoat Stadium Doncaster saw BADYS win both the Under 10s and Under 14s sections to be crowned overall champions. In both boys and girls Under 14s sections BADYS took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. A great day and a massive,massive well done to all who took part. Everyone at BADYS is proud of each and every one of you, keep up the good work. Winter Competitions 28/8/2010 Dates for both the Derbyshire Sports Hall Mini League and the North Midlands X Country League are now availale. These can be found on the Events Diary page. Training 4/9/2010 Next training session Sat 4/9/10. Street Athletics National Finals 11/9/2010 The Street Athletics National Finals take place in Manchester on 11/9/10. Due to BADYS involvement there will be no training on this day. Club Meeting 15/9/2010 The next Club Meeting is on Wednesday 15th September 2010. This will be held at Hilcote Miners Welfare/Community Centre starting at 7.30 pm.All welcome. DAN Squad Training Day 3/10/2010 The first DAN Squad Training Day takes place on Sun 3/10/10 at Mount St Marys College Spinkhill from 10.00am to 3.30pm. A practical day to start off winter training focusing on goal setting and reaching desired objectives. Four groups Sprints, Endurance, Jumps and Throws led by invited guests. Current stars Dwain Chambers (100M) and Karen Harewood (800M).Kevin Brown (Ex International and Coach to many German World Champions) and Daniel Caines (Former World Indoor Champion). |
